According to legend, she had beautiful wings and a coat of many colours, which would create rainbows as she travelled, carrying messages from the gods of Mount Olympus to earth, she can generate winds according to the physical ideas of the Greeks of that time which unites the rain and the sun in the rainbow bringing blessings. Her name later gave the meaning to the word «rainbow» in ancient Greek, from which the English term «iridescent» derives.
